Yesterday we kicked off the Harvest Church Mission Trip in Costa Rica with 2 separate adventure choices. 12 adventurers chose to venture up the base of Miravalles Volcano on horseback to see two majestic waterfalls while 30 thrill seekers paddled down 10 miles of class 3, 4 & 5 rapids on the amazing Rio Tenorio!! It's part of "The GTD Way" to include creation based adventures on all of our events. Time after time we've seen God use outdoor adventures to instantly build relationships, build team unity, push people out of their comfort zones, teach practical ways of overcoming fears, enhance appreciation for God's creation, and forge lifelong memories that will be relived over and over again (as well as many other benefits). God used both adventures to do exactly that. It was a great way to start the mission trip! Below are some pics from our rafting trip (including an epic class 5 rapid consisting of a 12 foot waterfall!) and our horseback riding trek. Praise God for His amazing playground!!
