Great SAC Event Yesterday!


We had a great SAC (Sunday After Church) event yesterday!!

We had around 40 people from Smiley's (the young adult ministry of First Baptist Indian Rocks) at our MEGA Park Day... perfect weather, cookout, volleyball, games, fellowship, & canoeing to Archie Island... good times =)

GET FIT =)

Never forget, God designed our bodies to be active. If you have a job or attitude that keeps you sedentary then take time to add physical fitness to your daily schedule. The benefits are almost innumerable - physically, mentally & emotionally. We put a little "fitness area" in the GTD office to make working out convenient.

You can't go the distance if you're not physically & spiritually fit. As God's Word tells us: "For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things..." - 1 Timothy 4:8

WE R WHAT WE EAT!

I have grown convinced that 90% of physical fitness results from eating healthy while refraining from eating tempting foods that taste great, but actually destroy the body (immediately or over the long haul).

I've also found the same is true about the spirit. God created us to live in obedience to His Word while refraining from tempting decisions that taste great for a short season, but destroy the spirit as well as our potential.

At the end of the day, we are what we eat. We become what we devour - physically & spiritually.

"Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God" - Jesus (Matt 4:4)

DEBRIEFING & MEETING

Enjoyed my post-trip debriefing & lunch with Ron Cooney & Aaron Walp yesterday. Two GREAT pastors from Calvary Baptist Church, Clearwater, FL. Already planning out our 2014 Men's Camping Event called "Rescue".

Also loved meeting with Julie, Val, & Franklin of the Family Center on Deafness to plan out & promote their annual Adventure Trip coming up in July =)

We had a fantastic time on our Men's Cross Fit Camping Event with Calvary Baptist Church of Clearwater over the weekend...

Quality time with God, competitions, campfire, Godly teaching, climbing wall, high ropes course, zipline, play doh, nine inch nails (literally)...

24 non-stop God-awesome hours together!!

"CROSS FIT" STARTS TOMORROW!!

Our 2nd Annual Men's Camping Event with Calvary Baptist Church of Clearwater starts tomorrow.

This year's theme is "Cross Fit" as we focus on: "Physical Strength - Mental Toughness - Emotional Awareness - Spiritual Maturity" to help free men up to become the man our family, and most importantly, God, wants us to be.

Can't wait!!! Pray for a great impact and follow our updates throughout the weekend =)

3 YEARS AGO!!

3 years ago today GTD received it's largest gift ever... a 2005 Ford F250 King Ranch Edition "Man-Truck".

Everyday it still feels like the first day we received it!!

Our never ending deep gratitude goes out to the donors. It was the perfect gift at the perfect time!! Praise God =)

LIQUID 2013 = FANTASTIC TIME!!


On March 30th we had our annual Liquid Canoeing Day Trip. We had a great time with 26 fun-loving people as we paddled 4 miles through an amazing maze of mangroves while having squishee ball wars & a great time of fellowship.

We also took time to worship God through a waterside Easter message called "No Guts; No Glory... Gut Check" where we focused on possibly the most heroic words spoken in Scripture when Jesus said, just hours before His crucifixion, "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done." (Luke 22:42)

30 Days of Productivity (Started March 20th)


On March 20th we kicked off our "30 Days of Productivity"!! Laurie spearheaded this amazing campaign of productive work that extends over the next 30 business days. She did a FANTASTIC job preparing these super cool check-off bulletin boards =)

We are on a 30 day "get on top of everything" mission over here at the GTD office. Day 1 & 2 highlights included a major clean-up of 1 of the 3 personal offices. I removed clutter, dusted, steam cleaned, & converted the office into a multi-purpose / workout room. Laurie fine-tune organized & repacked several large containers of fund raising supplies & seasonal supplies. In addition, one of our main objectives is to maintain our "Daily Top 10 Priorities" (such as daily devotions, eating right, working out, etc) while throwing ourselves into this 30 day "get'r done" campaign. It's way tooooo easy to get off track from daily priorities during themed objectives like this so we are going out of our way to maintain a healthy balance while we strive to accomplish many tasks. We appreciate all prayers as we diligently work unto the Lord!! =)

After a mini-vacation & Easter break we were right back at 30 Days of Productivity!! Days 3-5 saw the check-marks flying =)

Bloomin' Success!! (March 16)


GTD was excited to partner with People Helping People of Pinellas Park for a fundraiser on Sat March 16, 2013 at the 23rd Annual Country In The Park Festival in Pinellas Park.

We made & sold PHP's delicious version of "Blooming Onions" & Curly Fries all day long. Many people came out to volunteer, as well as enjoy the festivities and food.

It was a PERFECT day outside and the event helped GTD raise some extra funds for our programs. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day a success!! And special thanks to Jerry Garner for his NON-STOP work and People Helping People of Pinellas Park for giving us this great opportunity!! God bless you all <><

Youth For Christ Event Was Awesome (March 15)


What do you get when you mix 61 Canadians with 1 GTD Adventure Race??? A God-awesome time!!!

We loved our event with the crew from Quinte Youth Unlimited on March 15th. They did a fantastic job running all over camp looking for 8 different checkpoints and completing several different adventures like... the slingshot shootout, swamp crossing, grappling hook'n launch, tire maze, search & find riddle, cross puzzle, bucket brigade w/ canoeing challenge, and KABOOM!

Praise God for a great event and thank you QYU for the wonderful opportunity!! We pray you had a safe 24 hour ride back to Canada. God bless <>< /// AND huge thanks to Jim Butski & Cameron Porter for all your help... AWESOME JOB... you guys are AMAZING!!!
