We pre-raised $40,000 going into last night's Annual Banquet where our amazing supporters contributed (as well as pledged) an additional $46,000 !!!!!!!!

That's miraculous!!!!!!

We are floored by the level of support our incredible donors have supplied. We know that God is at work! We can't raise this level of support in our own power... it's a total God thing! And we are blessed beyond words just to watch all that God is doing.

From the bottom of our hearts, and on behalf of this ministry, THANK YOU SO MUCH to all of our guests, donors, table sponsors, monthly partners, volunteers, participants, encouragers, and prayer warriors!!! God is working through you to impact a lot of youth!!

We had a great time last night! We had amazing help, the venue looked awesome, Morgan did great job emceeing, we were ready for the early birds, we started on time, we had plenty of delicious food, we had a great turnout, we were able to see - thank - and hug many supporters, great highlight videos, quality awards, great donor gifts, nice goodie bags, a great donation response, and a bunch of other positives. So many things to celebrate!

And that only leaves us with 14k remaining to hit our $100,000 quest by the end of the year!!

I just returned from a 24 hour Father & Son Retreat with Tampa Covenant Church. GTD has been doing events with TCC since 2007 and absolutely love this group! "WAIT"EVER IT TAKES! .... REST FROM THE QUEST!

I enjoyed taking the day off yesterday. A couple of years ago I recommitted myself to God's Old Testiment instructions to "Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy" (also known as "a day of rest" that God set as an example after 6 days of creating the world). One of my favorite definitions of the word "Sabbath" is: "to cease from striving". So, basically, the idea is to take a day off each week from the work that you're striving after the other 5 or 6 days of the week. It's not rocket science, but it has the profound impact of rocket science. If you're like me and you love to work & strive then you relate to the challenge it is to stop your momentum and pause your progress. For us, waiting or ceasing from striving or relaxing for a day is actually an act of faith. When we refrain from our work and press pause for the day (while internally everything inside you wants to keep plugging away) this is actually an act of faith. We are literally saying to God, "I trust You. I believe You." "I know that you know more than I do, and even though I think I'll be more productive if I don't take a day off, I believe that You created me for more than work and I believe that I'll actually be more productive & effective the rest of the week if I simply obey You and cease from striving for the entire day." For strivers, that day can feel very awkward as we literally wait (and eagerly desire) for the next day to arrive. But, wow, have I ever fallen in love with the Sabbath! It has blessed my life in countless ways over the past 2 years. I love the challenge of ceasing for the day. Moreover, I love the blessings and benefits I experience from a day of rest. And I love being able to express my faith and trust to my Lord by just stopping... by just patiently waiting. I love the mantra, "Whatever It Takes!"... but I'm often reminded that the greater act of faith many times is pressing pause and simply waiting on the Lord. In those times the mantra becomes, "WAIT-ever It Takes!" /// Breaks over. Back to work!

Our quest is to raise $100,000 by the end of December to launch us into our 24th year of ministry (as well as prepare for our BIG 25th anniversary in 2021). With 17 days until our Banquet we are only $78 away from hitting the $25,000 milestone (that's 25% of our overall goal). WOW, that means that God has already blessed us with some phenomenal & generous donors that have helped us pre-raise $24,922!!!! Thank you AWESOME DONORS!!!

Like me, the Fund Raising Tracker is a little old school. I manually update the link every day or two so check back every couple of nights to see how we're tracking =).

Everything in ministry (and life) has the opportunity to be a faith journey. That's how it is with fundraising. Only God can influence someone to give and support. I don't have that kind of influence. We aren't professional fundraisers. We simply seek God for His direction and then we start following Him in faith up the path He invites us on. If we stay in tune with Him then we don't walk the path in front of Him, we walk the path WITH Him. And that's when it gets exciting. He grows our faith muscles as we partake in this faith journey.

Pray that we continually keep in step with the Holy Spirit... that we don't try to run ahead of God or down side paths of distractions... that we stay on course and in step with our Heavenly Father  =)
