This is our story put to pictures...
In 2005 God opened the door for GTD to get involved in international missions through a partnership with Banyan Resources. |
Since our first mission trip we have embraced & been embraced by the lovely small rural communities of Guayabo & Fortuna in the northwest region of Guancaste, Costa Rica.

This is where we were planted and this is where we bloom...
Banyan Resources purchased nearly 100 acres of farmland situated between Guayabo & Fortuna... The property is called Rancho Arbol de Vida, or "Tree of Life Ranch"... It's located near the beautiful dormant Miravalles Volcano...
Our Costa Rica Project is an exciting multiyear endeavor highlighted by our efforts to transform the nearly 100 acres of farmland into ministry outreach facilities...
Projected construction endeavors include an orphanage, fish farm, outreach center, Christian distribution center and GTD's MOAB (Mission & Outdoor Adventure Base)...
We've also developed a FANTASIC relationship with the local churches. It's so amazing to see the same God we worship is the same God worshipped all over the world in every kind of language...
During the week we set up a Carnival Day for the kids of Fortuna... where we do Bible story skits & share the gospel...
and put together all types of games....
and all types of crafts...
and did I mention the WATER BALLOON FIGHTS!!!!
During much of the week we work hard on the property & in the community...
sometimes digging holes for septic tanks...
sometimes filling those septic holes with rocks for filtering... sometimes mixing concrete for building projects...
sometimes painting schools... sometimes painting church walls...
sometimes painting each other... no matter what it is we do, we do it with the joy of the Lord, with much laughter, & with hearts that celebrate the liberating power of Jesus Christ...
whether it's a planned project like building an outdoor baptismal in a river...
or another planned project to build a ministry outreach center...
or even an unplanned project like removing the van Doug drives into the mud!!!
And did we mention the beautiful scenery...
and the heart-pounding adventures...
and most importantly all the WORSHIP, all the AWESOME DAILY DEVOTIONS, all the LIFE CHANGING NIGHTLY BIBLE STUDIES, & all the AMAZING FELLOWSHIP WITH EACH OTHER and the INCREDIBLE INTERACTION WITH THE COSTA RICANS!!!
This is the Costa Rica Project that God started in our ministry...
and we want to INVITE YOU to experience it for yourself!!
Many thanks to Laurie Finger Photography for the wonderful collages she created that tell our story better than just words ever could.
