GRATIFYING vs SATISFYING

Rarely do wants line up with shoulds. The greatest rewards in life come through doing what you should do which is oftentimes in contrast to what you want to do. Working out verses sleeping in. Eating vegetables verses eating donuts. Drinking water verses drinking soda. Saving money verses buying impulsively. Spending time with loved ones verses watching Netflix. Time with God verses social media. Enjoying your family verses watching the news. Constantly indulging that which momentarily gratifies often comes at a price of a lifetime that satisfies. Healthy God breathed self control and self discipline can launch you from daily regrets and missed opportunities to a life that overflows. But the journey starts with one profound thought: Maybe my emotions and my heart aren't very accurate at directing my life.

"The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; Who can understand it?" - Jeremiah 17:9

"There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death." - Proverbs 14:12
