Reliving The Retreat: Camp Set-Up!!

Since our cell phone coverage was so poor during our GOD-AWESOME retreat with Calvary Baptist Church of Clearwater and Skycrest Baptist Church of Clearwater we weren't able to blog our last retreat. Soooooo, I've decided to relive the retreat by posting the blogs that would have been uploaded if we were able to. OK, here we go!!!

LAURIE & I MADE IT TO CAMP!!
Our 3 hour drive from Largo to Ocala went great. (Praise God for our awesome truck donors that donated the trucks we use & the fantastic couple that donated the enclosed trailer!!). Laurie drove the utility truck and pulled the canoe trailer while I drove the King Ranch and pulled the enclosed trailer full of base camp gear.

A QUICK GLANCE AT OUR BASE CAMP
For the next 48 hours this will be home base for our youth retreat with a group of wild & fun 8th graders and their youth leaders. We are right in the heart of Ocala National Forest at a group campsite situated on a beautiful spring fed lake!!

SETTING UP CAMP
We are about 5 hours ahead of the group. Camp set-up is labor intensive. Laurie is organizing the food pantry & cooking area so she can cook some fantastic meals for the kids. I'm unloading the camping gear, hanging hammocks, as well as preparing the canoeing & caving equipment. The weather forecast is perfect!! This is going to be a fun trip!!
