    - ABOUT OUR DESTINATION -
Another liquid sensation in God's playground!

WAR VETERANS' MEMORIAL PARK -to- SEMINOLE WATERFRONT PARK

    Length: 4 miles
    Water Type: Salt Water
    Clarity: Low Visibility

We will put-in in a wind protected area right behind the picnic shelter of War Veterans' Memorial Park and begin paddling out to the open waters of Boca Ciega Bay. Keep your eyes open for the occasional dolphin sighting. Hugging the shore line we will paddle north past the Bay Pines Boat Ramp as we carefully navigate through any boat traffic and then shoot northeast under the Bay Pines Twin Bridges. At this point we will begin paddling northwest travelling under the Pinellas Trail recreational bridge as we enter the narrowing Long Bayou. This stretch usually has good wind protection because of the bountiful mangroves all around. Long Bayou is usually teaming with mullet and all kinds of other fish and bird life. We will navigate through the maze of mangroves until we reach our take-out at Seminole Waterfront Park.

Along the route we will also make time for a devotional and some optional paddling games, races, and water wars =)
