We were 15 miles outside of cell phone coverage so posting daily updates wasn't possible during our 5-day Adventure Trip with the middle school youth group from Calvary Chapel Fellowship. But all the rain didn't dampen the spirits of our young adventurers as we kept rolling with the punches and making the most of the rare moments of sunshine.
This trip was like planning a vacation to Florida 6 months in advance only to arrive to a slow moving Tropical Storm, and you do any outdoor activities that aren't affected by the rain. We tarpped all the tents in advance of the storms and the tents held strong throughout the trip.
Here's a list of the adventures we were able to accomplish: bridge jump, cliff jump, lake day, team building, ultimate, slip'n slide, team sports, Kan Jam, the history of telephones museum, the history of guns museum, Ft Loudon pre-revolutionary war tour, lake baptisms, morning devotions, nightly campfire messages, delicious camp meals, and eating out at a pizza restaurant.
Unfortunately we weren't able to do rock climbing or rappelling, and Baby Falls was way too dangerous to slide over.
Even with all the rain the kids and their leaders had a blast!
