LOCAL CULTURAL TOUR (Harvest Church Mission Trip)

Hola amigos y la familias es Jenna! Hope everyone is having a great week back home :) We miss you all just a little, just kidding, a lot, but we are staying busy here in Costa Rica. Wake up call was bright and early at 6:45 am this morning (Friday) :). Breakfast, cooked by wonderful Lila, was delicious as always. Our group read devotions at la finca (Spanish for farm), this morning. It was an amazing sight to see. We read Genesis 1 as we sat on old lava rocks in the green grass scattered across a hill with the volcano in the background. Just reading the creation story while observing God's creation of this beautiful earth and all the attention to detail was indescribable.

Next, we toured a local sugarcane farm and a local home that produces their own coffee. After watching the process of sugar being made, we got to try sugar, sugarcane water, and homemade peanut brittle. Connor decided to beat Doug and Tate and Roger in a sugarcane water chugging contest. He was a champ, but needless to say, he had a sugar overload! Next, we experienced the coffee making process. Our group took turns smashing the coffee beans out of their shells, cooking them until their black, grinding them into fresh coffee grounds, and then tried the fresh brewed coffee. Muy Delicioso :) Whew! What an amazing trip so far. God is great. The rest of the day we prepared for the Conference taking place this weekend! We are so thankful for everything, and everyone that made this possible. Dios te Bendega (God Bless You). Much love amigos y la familias :)
